The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo and I led a delegation to visit Chief Suru Oyarede, a community leader in Aleibiri, a retired permanent secretary and one of the leaders of Ekeremor Local Government and Bayelsa West, over the loss of his wife last year and the loss of his step son also in December.
Thereafter we paid a courtesy call on the Alei of Aleibiri and his council of chiefs who are my colleagues as I am the Tarekekereowei of Alei Kingdom.
The chiefs accompanied us to attend the funeral rites and interment of the mother of Honorable Alex Dumbo and we praised her for raising a decent and honourable son and left behind a family. We pray God to grant her soul eternal rest and the family, the fortitude to bear the loss.
I thank all the leaders of the senatorial district, leaders of the community and leaders across Bayelsa who found time to be at the event which is a testimony of the extent of impact her son has made over the years and I thank the former Deputy Governor, Right Honorable Perembowei Ebebi, his wife and every other person who was there.
