Today, I received in my Abuja residence, leaders, elders, women and youths of my Senatorial District and Bayelsa state who came to felicitate with me on the occasion of my inauguration into the 10th National Assembly.
On behalf of my family, I thank the Governor of Bayelsa state , H.E Senator Douye Diri, and his Deputy Senator Lawrence Ewrhudjakpor, leaders of our party (the PDP) elders of Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Royal father of the day, women and Youths and all who found time to celebrate with me and also for your love, support and prayers that led to my re-election.
Although I had scheduled the reception to hold in Bayelsa state on a later date where everyone in the Senatorial District and beyond would partipate, elders, leaders and members of my constituency mobilized themselves and travelled to Abuja in their numbers to felicitate with me. However, In reflection of the sad incident that occured on Sunday, I deliberately decided to make it a low key event.
I assure all those back home, who were not able to make it here that in no distant time, in consultation with our caucus leaders, we will have a reception in Bayelsa state that will see the full participation of everyone.
Once again, I thank everyone who found time to celebrate with me and wish you safe journey back home.
