Yesterday, I led a high-powered delegation made up of several traditional rulers, high chiefs across Bayelsa West, other political leaders, Women and Youth leaders, and some even from across the state when I visited Ayakoro community one of the Tarakiri communities in Ogbia Local Government. The Paramount ruler and the Chiefs invited me to chair the 66th anniversary of their festival. I was there and it was a pleasure to have seen His Royal Majesty King Seiyefa Koroye, Pere of Tarakiri Clan and my elder brother as well as several high chiefs of Tarakiri Clan of which I am one and several women who graced the occasion.
In my remarks, I thanked them for the honour of inviting me and I share with them their passion of celebrating culture, tradition and history. I thanked them for the prevailing peace, I appreciated Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, NDDC MD for the developmental strides in their community prevailing peace and some of the development going on in some other Communities in the State and across the Niger Delta.
I call for collaboration between the NDDC and the state governments especially that of Bayelsa State to collaborate on major projects that will change the lives of our people. I thank the MD for showing impact which we have seen in his Community and in some other places, I also thanked him for the solar intervention in my community and other Communities in Bayelsa West and urge him to do more to collaborate with the government of the state and other stakeholders across the state. I urge the people to support and pray for him to work for peace as only a peaceful community can enjoy development.
I thank them for the honour, the warm reception and hospitality by the community and Dr Samuel Ogbuku to my delegation and I, I wish the community well.
