Today, I was in Ijebu Ode to attend the burial of Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun, founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB).
Otunba Balogun lived a great life, was called to the Lord weeks ago at the age of 89 years and was buried in a grand way. I was among those who attended the burial ceremony to commiserate with my brothers (his children) and their mother.
Otunba Michael Balogun lived a full life and was a great banking and business icon.
May God grant his soul eternal repose and his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
He will be surely missed.
Earlier, I paid a courtesy call on His Royal Highness, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, Oba of Lagos.
I also found time to visit my father the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu, His Royal Highness Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, to pay my condolences and also to check on him. I did so in the company of His Excellency, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Alhaji Kashim Shetima and the Governor of Ogun State His Excellency, Dapo Abiodun and Several others.
